This is your thermostat’s IPV6 network address, which is used for Thread communications. This is the network IP address of the router that your Nest thermostat is connected to. Most home networks use the default subnet mask 255.255.255.0. You can also see the the thermostat’s IP address on your Wi-Fi router’s list of connected devices.Ī subnet mask is used to identify the network location of an IP address. This is your Nest thermostat’s network IP address, which is assigned by your router. This tells you the Nest thermostat's Wi-Fi network interface which is typically “wlan0.” This shows you what type of security your Wi-Fi network is using: WPA, WEP, etc. Note: If disconnected from Wi-Fi, you’ll simply see “Client not connected.” Try moving your Wi-Fi router or extender to see if the signal strength improved.

You can use the signal strength to help troubleshoot offline issues with your thermostat. A signal strength of 75 is considered strong, while a value of 36 or lower is considered weak. The signal strength has a maximum value of 100. The ping (measured in milliseconds) may also appear. This is where the name and signal strength of the Wi-Fi network your thermostat is connected to will appear. Your thermostat's base has a unique serial number. Nest Thermostat only: your thermostat will list a device ID that’s unique to your display. This shows the model name of your thermostat. This is the place in your home that your thermostat has been assigned (such as kitchen or hallway).
